- The first evaluation of Reconciliation Action Plan of a program launched in 2006 has shown that 280 organisations are now involved.
- According to Tom Calma, co-chairman of Reconciliation Australia, there is a pledge of just over 21,000 jobs and just over 13,000 have been filled and they are real and sustainable jobs
- He also says that if you can employ somebody locally and have a sustainable workforce, that is of benefit to the company

The initiative will see the launch of a DVD, based on theatrical performances by a Newcastle-based Aboriginal production company. About two-thousand copies of the DVD will be made available, through funding from the National Indigenous Consumer Strategy.
